Last night I was enjoying my first Erratics Cricket Club end of season get together/dinner when something totally unexpected happened! I was overwhelmed to receive this cup from a wonderfully warm, supportive and encouraging group of people. I’ve only just started playing cricket again after a VERY long time. There are lots of players who I thought deserved this more, and whose cricketing skills are much better than mine. So thanks Erratics and looking forward to next season.
When I lived in Copenhagen several years ago, I worked for some Danish magazines. One of them, Alt for Damerne, ran a lovely series called “Soskende”, “brothers and sisters”. I met some wonderful people including the beautiful and very talented Sofie Grabol. Here are a couple of polaroids from the session and a tearsheet from the spread they ran in the magazine of Sofie and her equally talented brother, Niels, who was busy with his own film career on the other side of the camera. She was well know in Denmark at the time, and now everyone in the UK knows her because of the amazing series, “The Killing”, just about to start its second series. Well done Sofie.
Like a glass of St Emilion racing across the sea.
Met some great characters on the Hoe in Plymouth after watching the racing. Especially Roy and his wife sitting outside their classic seaside beach hut. “Who needs to go to the Bay of Naples with a view like this”, he said, and I had to agree. He’s invited me back for another chat and a seat with that prime view. I would love to make a portrait of him, but thought I would wait. He’s a big guy, and the colour of a walnut. “I sit out here, even in the winter.”
